According to the SuperLawyers site, Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a rigorous, multiphase rating process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. Houston Smith is honored to be selected as a SuperLawyer for 2011.

Both Mark Link and Houston Smith have been selected by their peer for inclusion as AV Preeminent Personal Injury Lawyers. According to Martindale-Hubbell, an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating is an outstanding achievement and demonstrates that a lawyer has earned the highest possible rating available for their legal ability and professional ethics. The lawyers of Link & Smith, P.C. were rated AV in 2003 and have been rated as AV Preeminent since 2009.

Ten Leaders selects professional who have reached a high degree of achievement in their area of practice and has chosen to include Mark Link and Houston Smith as leaders in the area of personal injury.  The standard for inclusion in Ten Leaders is based on five primary criteria:

Avvo is a research and rating site for doctors and lawyers. Houston Smith is rated Superior by Avvo as a 10.0 rating, the highest rating possible.

The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA) is dedicated to protecting the Constitutional promise of justice for all by guaranteeing the right to trial by jury, preserving an independent judiciary, and providing access to the courts for all Georgians. Mark and Houston are both members of GTLA.

Both Mark Link and Houston Smith were invited as members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.  Established in 1993, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum (which includes the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum) is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States.  Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. There are over 4000 members throughout the country.  Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.
